Alternatives to Travel Insurance

If you love travelling, you already know that paying for a trip, especially to another country, usually requires a considerable investment of your money and time. But you can save your cash by protecting yourself with special insurance. You may purchase expensive comprehensive coverage for travelers but not everybody may afford that. So, here are some great cheaper alternatives:
1) Flight insurance
Quite often, airfare is one of the most significant expenses of the whole trip. But what if your flight gets cancelled or delayed for several days or you need to cancel it for some reason? You need to protect yourself from such unpleasant situations. Some travel aggregator web-sites and airlines offer special flight insurance. It is basically an added fee for tourists that allows them to change or cancel their tickets without paying any cancellation and rebooking fees.
2) Refundable bookings
In order to avoid paying the cost of travel insurance, you may simply make your own travel arrangements with the help of refundable bookings. Some hotels often allow absolutely free cancellation with 48-hours’ notice. Most of other arrangements such as event tickets, tours and dinner reservations can also be easily cancelled at no cost provided you give a phone call in advance.
3) Credit-card coverage
The credit card which you use for booking your trip may offer special reimbursement in case any of your travel plans get canceled. This will also protect you from financial difficulties. If you have multiple credit cards, you can use the one that has the highest insurance limits for booking your trip.
4) Health insurance
Some of the standard health insurance policies may extend protection if you go for a trip, even if you leave your healthcare provider’s network and even your country
